SINGAPORE, 4 May 2012 - Motor Image, the exclusive distributor of Subaru in Asia, today launched the all-new Impreza, complete with more leg room, more headroom and a range of features that set a new benchmark for the brand's most popular model.
The fourth generation of Subaru's biggest seller in Singapore, the all-new Impreza was developed on the concept of 'redefining value, redefining class', underpinned by the unique Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system and Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine.
And while the exterior dimensions of the new sedan remain the same as previous models, the profile was redesigned from scratch to provide a distinctive new look, with the cabin space enlarged for better comfort and utility
The body is also made from lighter and more durable steel in keeping with Subaru's aim to continually address safety and environmental concerns.
Powering the all-new Impreza is the 1.6-litre Boxer engine that provides a marked improvement in driving performance, fuel efficiency, and with greater torque across the entire low-to-high speed range
Further fuel efficiency has been achieved by combining the Boxer engine with Lineartronic CVT, a transmission that is lightweight, compact and more environmentally friendly, which makes gear-shifting easy for a smoother ride.
Safety was also top of mind in the design of the new Impreza with a marked reduction in the size of blind spots, which improve visibility for the driver.
"The all-new, fourth generation Impreza raises the bar again," says Mr. Glenn Tan, Executive Director of Tan Chong International Ltd.
"The third generation boxer engine provides the merits of superior road handling and performance, while the fuel economy is also a standout benefit.
"I'm confident that this all-new Impreza will further make its mark as Subaru's biggest seller in the Singapore market."
The new Impreza is available at both Subaru showrooms at 25 Leng Kee Road and 19 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh.
